MONEYLINE EXPLAINED HOW TO MONEYLINE EXPLAINED FULL The next most common betting line you'll see when checking out hockey odds is the moneyline, aka the straight moneyline. Moneylines can also represent specific moneyline bets, but in either case, they mean the same thing. It's riskier, but the rewards are more attractive, which we'll discuss in greater depth below with the hockey moneyline bet.Īs you can see, hockey puck lines come with moneylines in parentheses, which are attached to all hockey bets, regardless of type. This is what makes betting on the underdog a very attractive proposition, and it's also why it pays more, dollar for dollar, to go with the longer shot. MONEYLINE EXPLAINED FULL If they come within 2 goals, your bet pays out a winner.įor instance, in a score of 3-2 (Lightning over Capitals), you'd still win betting on Washington because Tampa Bay didn't win by two full goals. This makes the Capitals the underdogs, of course, and if you were to bet on the Caps to win, the good news is that they don't actually have to win. by a hypothetical final score of 3-1, 4-2, etc. What this means, in a nutshell, is that the Lightning are such favorites that the oddsmakers actually predict they'll win by two complete goals e.g. The Lightning are favored to win the match, so the line might read: Washington Capitals +2 (-115), Tampa Bay Lightning -2 (-115). For instance, let's say the Tampa Bay Lightning are hosting the Washington Capitals. The puck line is typically expressed in a line that's either +X or -X. You may be more familiar with this kind of bet as a 'spread bet' or 'point spread' in other sports like football and basketball. Understanding Hockey Betting Lines And Odds The Hockey Puck Lineįirst and foremost, let's have a quick look at the favorite-underdog model as reflected by the hockey puck line. MONEYLINE EXPLAINED HOW TO We also suggest checking out our page about how to bet on hockey for some great tips and tricks. Throughout this section of our hockey gambling resource, we'll attempt to greatly simplify hockey betting lines by explaining them in strict layman's terms. So while these lines are rather similar in structure, they can still create a little confusion. This holds true whether you're betting on NHL hockey games or betting on NCAA hockey. This is because, other than soccer, hockey is the sport with the lowest average scores. And then you can even find things like over-under lines in hockey, which are practically identical to football over-unders, save the numbers.įor instance, an O/U in football might be 40 points, whereas in hockey it might be three goals. You have the basic moneyline, which tells you how much you have to bet to win X amount of money, and also which team is the favorite and which is the underdog. You have the basic favorite-underdog dichotomy of the line. This is because the bookmakers' betting structures are practically identical when putting together these sports odds. You won't find very much difference between the Pats and Broncos line vs. However, even if you're an everyday gambler on sports like football and basketball, you may still be a little confused when you run across a hockey betting line.īy and large, hockey lines are basically the same as NFL lines or MLB lines. Those familiar with sports betting may already have at least a rudimentary understanding of how to read and digest hockey betting lines.

Moneyline explained

In contrast, foliar application of caffeine decreased the C. gloeosporioides actin gene was gradually increased during the post-inoculation period. Here we show that elevated CO2 reduced endogenous caffeine content in tea leaves, but sharply increased susceptibility of tea to C. However, its effect on Colletotrichum gloeosporioides that causes brown blight disease in tea is largely unknown especially under elevated CO2. Interactions between factors regulatingĬaffeine, the major purine alkaloid in tea has long been known for its role in plant defense. Inhibition of A as a result of photoinhibition was minimized, but not eliminated, by abundant N. End‐product inhibition of A is not consistent with decreased Ci. Analysis of the responses of A to environment in the morning compared to the afternoon, and of chlorophyll fluorescence, suggests that A was photoinhibited as a consequence of greatly increased PAR, whilst decreasing gs (related to changes in PAR, VPD and TL) caused Ci to fall. Leaves of unshaded plants receiving least N had significantly (P<0.05) smaller A and greater total sugar content than shaded but with abundant N, A and sugars did not differ between shade treatments. The zero‐N treatment decreased total‐N content of leaves by 50% and A by c. In the late afternoon, irradiance, TL and VPD fell, but despite the relatively large increase in gs and Ci, A remained low however, it recovered overnight. However, as the irradiance, TL and VPD increased towards midday, A, gs, photochemical quenching, and Ci decreased, and non‐photochemical quenching increased. Stomatal conductances (gs) and substomatal carbon dioxide concentrations (Ci) were then large, leaf temperatures (TL) cool, and saturated water vapour deficits (VPD) small. When recently fully expanded leaves were measured under the growing conditions on bright, clear days from dawn to dusk,Ī was greatest in the morning with increasing radiation between approximately 8 h and 10 h. These treatments were combined with nitrogen fertilizer applications of 0, 360 and 720 kg ha−1 year−1. Were either unshaded, receiving 100% of incident photosynthetically active radiation (PAR), moderately shaded, (65% PAR) or Kuntze) bushes grown at high elevation in the field in Sri Lanka, were related to environmental conditions. This documentation is mainly targeted at tea planting community, policy makers and other users such as researchers, national and international research institutes and multilateral organizations dealing with sustainable tea cultivation, development and livelihood security of dependents.ĭiurnal changes in the rate of photosynthesis (A) of mature tea (Camellia sinensis (L.) O. It is a joint effort by the scientists of Tea Research Institute of India, Sri Lanka, Kenya and China supported by the FAO-IGG on tea in Rome. This compilation of adaptation strategies for tea cultivation developed and practiced by major tea growing countries of the world, is the first step taken by the working group on climate change of the FAO-IGG on tea to minimize climate change impacts on tea plantations. Increasing temperatures, changes to rainfall amount and distribution, coupled with major shifts in other meteorological parameters in comparison with long term observations have further complicated the production process. Presently, the climate change triggered by global warming is posing a major threat to the resilience of agricultural systems including tea cultivation. Tea is the most used beverage second to water in the world.
